About Chop,WOK & Talk!

Chop, WOK, & Talk! started 6 years ago as the only Chinese Cooking School in the Pittsburgh area! Since then, due to its success and  popular demand, the school has added classes from other Southeast Asian countries. The owner and instructor, Dorothy Tague, has taught and taken cooking lessons for years. Her classes are easy to follow, hands-on and fast-paced. Individual attention is given to all students according to his or her cooking skills. In the same lesson, a well-seasoned cooking student will feel challenged, and a novice cook will feel well looked after. Ask any of her students!

 

 

Chop,WOK & Talk! offers

 many different options:

 

· Chinese Cooking Series I: a series of well-planned and tasty classes that will progressively increase your Chinese cooking skills while preparing your favorite dishes.

· Chinese Cooking Series II a series of classes for students who wish to increase their knowledge of Chinese cooking techniques and add to their repertoire of recipes.

· Thai Cooking Series: a series dedicated to those lovers of   coconut, cilantro, lime, mangoes, pineapple, curries, and HOT & SPICY foods.

· Vietnamese Cooking Series: incorporates French and Chinese cooking and includes wonderful desserts, fresh spring rolls, and rice noodle soups (pho) delicious sandwiches and stir frys.

· Indian Cooking Series: a great class for vegetarians and those who love SPICY foods, breads, chutneys, rice dishes  and lamb.

· ‘Specialty’ Classes for 2008 & 2009:  each season a non–Asian class will be offered. Fall of 2008 will be Moroccan cuisine and spring of 2009 will be Greek cuisine.

· Corporate Teambuilding: specially scheduled ‘hands-on’ cooking classes where colleagues gather for fun, food, and camaraderie. (luncheon/dinner)

· Private Parties at the School: a cooking experience for friends/relatives/co-workers where your group selects the menu and participates in the cooking of the meal.

· Gift Certificates: give to ‘foodie’ friends for that special occasion, a thank you, or a gift.

· Catered Affairs:  for up to 100 people.  Call for menu suggestions and pricing.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

   Credentials:

 

· Trained with Anna Kao (of Anna Kao's Restaurant in Fox Chapel) for many years.

· Attended the Pennsylvania Institute of Culinary Arts.

· Has a BA degree in education and taught high school for 12 years.

· Is Nationally Certified in Sanitation & Food Service Management.

· Regularly teaches cooking classes for the Community College of Allegheny County (CCAC).

· Guest instructor at the Crate.

· Guest instructor at In The Kitchen.
